Jemma

Jemma Grace Tubman has arrived!
(for more pics visit www.accordingtoscott.blogspot.com)

( She got a bit bruised on the way out hence the 2 black eyes and other bruises.
Just in case you were wondering what all that was about)

But she did arrive 3 weeks early!
After taking in a bit of casual TV on Friday night, Hayley was getting really sore after we went to bed. And the soreness was coming at 10 min intervals. Not good.
We hit hospital at around midnight and Jemma arrived via ceaser at 3am. At 35 weeks she was quite prem and went on a drip for antibiotics and a feeding tube down the nose. 'They' say that apparently kids can't suck that effectively until 36 weeks but after twisiting the nurses arm we gave Hayley a shot at breastfeeding. And the little girl took to it like . . . a baby to a breast I guess. So at least that means she can come home with Hayley on Tuesday.
It was a bit of a case of good, bad, good. Having a baby is fantastic. (the good)
But it was out of the blue (being so early), we got stuck with a grumpy nurse when we arrived, our gynae and doctor and birth companion were all away as was Hayley's mum. And also my parents plane tickets are now 3 weeks out of date. So we were kind of flying solo. )The bad) (We had replacement doctors for all these jobs of course - it's not as if we delivered Jem ourselves, but at times like that it is always nicer to have some familiar faces around.)
But 24 hrs later, Jemma's off the feeding tube, Hayley is up and about and life is feeling a bit more in control. (The good)
God is beautiful and creates amazing things. He is to be thanked.
More to come
Scott
