Noshy

It's always exciting when you develop a new skill, right?

Well, this week (with the visit of a cold), Ben has learnt how to blow his nose.

Problem is, he doesn't get the idea that you are meant to blow your nose into the tissue. He dabs the top of his nose with the tissue AFTER he has huffed and pufed and blown snot all over his face.

I guess 1 outta 2 aint that bad . . . .

PS: I figured a pic of this might be midly disturbing

The kis of death

Years ago back in Sydney I heard a great radio discussion on Triple J.

It was called animal gladiators. The idea was that 2 random animals were chosen to battle it our to the death. The listeners had to call in and play around with the thought experiment to see what could happen.

I'm glad to say that from time to time Ben lets his imagination wander.

T Rex verses a jungle cat?

(Although to be honest I think he was actually getting them to kiss, not eat each other. He is a pretty gentle kid deep down.)

Handy

It's been so long between posts that I'm not really surprised that the last post didn't elicite any comment. But check it out, I'd be keen to hear what you think.

We got Ben some Mega Blocks (this will no doubt give him a head start to winning those lego building competitions in the shopping centres in school holidays a few years from now).

He is pretty handy with the hammer and screwdriver - he must get it from his grandad.

Man, I've got a lot of blog catching up to do. But my theory is that you don't rob time from real life to blog it. It's the other way around.

Anywho . . .

One of Ben's fav. new toys is a doll that belongs to the children's dept here at church. It's meant to be a baby Jesus but it is a werid doll. African hair, asian eyes, white man's skin. I think this is taking PC a bit too far . . .

But that's beside the point. Ben loves it and puts it to bed, gives it kisses and lulls it to sleep.

The question that you want to ask me though is, "Are you sure it's ok for boys to play with dolls?"

Care to comment?
