What's that noise?

Two weeks away from his first b'day and Ben is making some really weird noises.

True, his is constipated at the moment (I bet you wanted to know that) but some of these weird sqweeking sounds, you'd be forgiven for thinking that it is coming from his toy-whistle-hammer-thingy, rather than from a human infant.

Since my IT retardation forbids me from recording these sounds and transmiting them to you in blog form, here is the closest thing I can think of to help you share in the experience.

Benjamin James

It's been too long between posts. Again.

For the record, Ben's full name is Benjamin James Tubman.

The James is there because of big Jimmy Cooper. He is a solid , patience, wise, loving Christian man. I have appreciated his friendship no end. To a certian degree, Ben will turn out like me (if the law of the universe has it's say). But there will be gaps in that, and I see in Jimmy many of the characteristics that can plug those holes.

So a huge thanks to brother Jim, and to Ben; the prayer is that you might grow into a Christian man who appreciates all these good things.

Below is a pic of the polar fleece that Jim and Em sent for Ben ages ago, but he has now grown into it and it is certianly cold enough here at the moment.

My new Favourite photo

Ben just had his second haircut of all time.

So I put this pic up to remember what as. Now - well, now it's a different story altogether.

Think, 'click go the shears' (for those down under) meets Martin Luther.

The good thing about hair is that it grows back.

We're back!

It's good to be back.
No . . . hang on, that's not right.
But we're back nevertheless so let's play a little bit of catch up.

This is just after we got back from our week in Betty's Bay. I think we were all (well, at least 2 of us) having post holiday depression but nothing helps with that more than a cuddle on the couch.

This is while we were away - Ash and Les, your place is amazing - sadly not really captured in this photo. But the big old bath was a treat and any container that holds water is fine by Ben.

This is before we left. Ben with his kiddies Bible. It is remarkably good. We are still doing well reading it each night. More for our routine than understanding, but you never know. It's good practice for me to explain the stories simply so I'm ready when he is. We've been through it once and are back to Moses again.

Next time, I'll tell you about another book of a lifetime that we got our hands on recently.
